Mr. Ajay Swaminathan

Consultant Gynaecologist & Menopause Specialist (BMS Certified)

Mr Ajay Swaminathan is a Consultant Gynaecologist and British Menopause Society-accredited Menopause Specialist. He practices privately at Spire Regency Hospital Macclesfield, Circle Cheshire Clinic Northwich, and The Beaumont Hospital Bolton, with his NHS base at Mid Cheshire (Leighton) Hospital and the Hewitt Fertility Centre, Knutsford.

Ajay has been a Consultant since 2012, following specialist training in the Mersey rotation and advanced training at the Kiel School of Gynaecological Endoscopy in Germany. He leads the NHS menopause clinic at Leighton Hospital and serves as deputy lead for gynaecology oncology.

He specialises in managing complex menopause cases, offering services including pelvic ultrasound, Mirena IUS insertion, and hysteroscopy. He treats women with menopausal symptoms and a history of endometriosis, pelvic pain, PCOS, PMS/PMDD, and cancer-related concerns.

Ajay is a published author, experienced speaker, and actively involved in research and medical education. His recent work on menopause and mental health has been widely cited.
