Webinar Summary

Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality, yet many events are preventable through earlier identification and effective lipid management. This webinar will examine the role of LDL-C and non-HDL-C in the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and review the evidence supporting intensive lipid lowering. Delegates will gain practical insights into current guideline recommendations, treatment targets, and strategies to optimise lipid management in primary care to improve long-term patient outcomes.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the role of LDL-C and non-HDL-C in the development of ASCVD.
  • Explain why earlier and intensive lipid lowering reduces cardiovascular risk.
  • Apply current guideline recommendations and lipid targets in clinical practice.
  • Optimise lipid-lowering therapy to improve long-term cardiovascular outcomes.

Key Benefits

  • Practical, case-based learning focused on lipid management in primary care.
  • Evidence-based guidance aligned with current UK and European guidelines.
  • Improve confidence in assessing cardiovascular risk and optimising lipid-lowering therapy.
  • Understand how earlier and intensive LDL-C reduction improves patient outcomes.
  • Opportunity to ask questions during the live Q&A session.
  • CPD-accredited with a certificate of attendance.

Additional Information

  • Suitable for GPs, prescribing pharmacists, nurses, physician associates, and other primary care healthcare professionals.
  • Free to attend, but advance registration is required.
