Study Day Summary
This dynamic, CPD-accredited study day brings together leading experts in dermatology, endocrinology, and metabolic medicine to explore the growing impact of obesity and chronic disease in everyday primary care practice. With a focus on practical, evidence-based learning, delegates will leave equipped with clinical skills and confidence to apply directly to their patients.
The day covers essential topic areas:
- Dermatology in practice - recognition and management of sun damage, actinic keratosis, and acne across all skin tones
- Neurology and metabolic health - understanding the obesity-headache connection, IIH, and migraine in chronic disease patients
- Diabetes and prescribing - implementing the new NG28 dual therapy guidelines and moving beyond glucocentric care

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this study day, participants will be able to:
- Recognise and manage sun-damaged skin and actinic keratosis across all skin tones, and identify patients requiring urgent dermatology review
- Identify obesity-linked neurological presentations including idiopathic intracranial hypertension and metabolic migraine, and apply appropriate red flag and referral pathways
- Diagnose and manage acne across diverse skin tones, including post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, using inclusive and evidence-based treatment pathways
- Apply the new NG28 dual therapy guidelines confidently in practice, moving beyond glucocentric care to address cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic risk in type 2 diabetes
