Learning Outcomes

By the end of this meeting, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify patients at risk of pre-diabetes in primary care using appropriate screening tools and risk stratification criteria
  2. Interpret HbA1c and fasting glucose results within the context of pre-diabetes diagnosis and monitoring
  3. Describe evidence-based lifestyle interventions available to patients with pre-diabetes, including dietary modification and physical activity recommendations
  4. Explain the role of structured education programmes (e.g. NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme) and how to refer patients appropriately
  5. Apply monitoring strategies to track patient progress and determine when escalation to pharmacological management may be warranted
