Learning Outcomes
By the end of this meeting, participants will be able to:
- Identify patients at risk of pre-diabetes in primary care using appropriate screening tools and risk stratification criteria
- Interpret HbA1c and fasting glucose results within the context of pre-diabetes diagnosis and monitoring
- Describe evidence-based lifestyle interventions available to patients with pre-diabetes, including dietary modification and physical activity recommendations
- Explain the role of structured education programmes (e.g. NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme) and how to refer patients appropriately
- Apply monitoring strategies to track patient progress and determine when escalation to pharmacological management may be warranted
