Event Agenda
An afternoon of practical clinical skills
Clinical skills workshop
Rotate through three practical stations covering respiratory assessment, ENT examination, blood pressure, pulse and NEWS2. Develop consultation skills throughout, with focused history taking, clear communication and safety-netting applied to clinical cases.
Station 1 / ENT examination
Otoscopy, tympanic membrane interpretation, oropharyngeal examination, cervical lymph node palpation and anterior rhinoscopy.
Station 2 / Respiratory assessment & consultation skills
Practise respiratory assessment and examination alongside structured consultation skills: focused history taking, explaining findings, recognising red flags and providing clear safety-netting advice.
Station 3 / Blood pressure, pulse & NEWS2
Build confidence in measuring blood pressure, assessing pulse rate and rhythm, and recording basic clinical observations. Use adult case scenarios to practise calculating NEWS2 from a complete set of observations and recognising when clinical concerns require escalation, alongside clinical judgement.
Also on the day / ClearerCare microsuction showcase
ClearerCare provides earwax removal services and training for pharmacy teams and healthcare professionals across the UK. Their audiologist-led courses combine practical microsuction training with ongoing clinical support to help teams develop ear care services.
