Study Day Summary
This one-day multidisciplinary update brings together experienced clinicians to address common, often challenging presentations seen every week in general practice, covering blood and liver health, diabetes and weight management, ENT, dermatology, and women’s health.Learning Outcomes
- Investigate and manage common anaemias and interpret liver function tests, including recognising and responding to MASLD
- Apply current diabetes guidance and support patients with weight management
- Assess and manage common ENT presentations, including dizziness
- Recognise and manage acne and confidently assess skin lesions where cancer is a concern
- Assess abnormal vaginal bleeding, advise on contraception, and manage menopausal symptoms holistically

Meet the Speakers
Dr Tim Cunliffe
Dr Tim Cunliffe has a portfolio career spanning General Practice, GPwERs, and Skin Cancer lead in the Department of Dermatology for Tees NHS Hospitals Foundation Trust. Tim was a previous President of the Primary Care Dermatology Society, and helped develop the program for the National Accreditation of Dermatology GPwERs.He is a huge advocate for upskilling Primary Health Care Professionals in Dermatology, and is the author of www.pcds.org.uk. Tim has a passion for wildlife and conservation and has his own advert-free travel blog www.aworldonthebrink.com.
Dr. Julie Oliver
MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, PGDip GynaecologyI was always interested in women’s health as a medical student, I loved my obstetric attachment and started off pursuing a career in Obs and Gynae. I soon discovered that I needed uninterrupted sleep and so moved into GP training. I couldn’t shake off the interest in women’s health so in my spare time I did the FSRH diploma, learned to fit coils and implants, and passed the DRCOG. Alongside working as a GP in Durham I developed a love of training and as well as studying for the Bradford Postgrad diploma in Women’s health became a FSRH trainer. I was part of the original team who set up the Primary Care Womens Health Society as a way to keep networking with other GPs who had an extended role in women’s health and my term as Chair has just been completed.I also own a business called Durham Gynae and through that deliver NHS commissioned clinics and training. I also learned the art of gynae ultrasound scanning and gained advanced menopause training. I love great fiction and seeing the world.
