Meet the Speakers

Dr Valeed Ghafoor

MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, PGCert (CPME)
Dr Valeed Ghafoor is an experienced GP, clinical leader, and healthcare innovator. He trained at the University of Manchester and has worked across acute medicine, mental health, sexual health, and HIV care.

As a GP partner and trainer, he leads a large practice of over 21,000 patients and has a special interest in workflow optimisation, skin health, and women’s health. He is also the founder of General Practice Specialists (Vallour), supporting practices to reduce administrative burden and improve patient care.

Alongside primary care, Dr Ghafoor provides private medical and aesthetic services, including skin checks, joint injections, and advanced facial aesthetics, ensuring safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care.

Darshan Negandi is a multi-award-winning portfolio pharmacist and Independent Prescriber with over 20 years’ experience across hospital, community, and primary care. He is a PCN Clinical Lead and Superintendent Pharmacist, leading on Pharmacy First and long-term condition management, and is nationally recognised for developing integrated care models that strengthen the interface between community pharmacy and general practice. His awardwinning CKD multimorbidity point-of-care clinic and respiratory optimisation pilots demonstrate how pharmacy-led early intervention, objective testing, and digital tools can improve outcomes and reduce system pressures. Through GPPharm-Assist Ltd, he designs and delivers high-impact clinical education and service development programmes across respiratory, cardiovascular prevention, dermatology, and advanced practice, with recent national teaching delivered at major professional conferences and organisations
