Why Should Healthcare Professionals Attend?

This CPD-accredited, face-to-face study day provides UK healthcare professionals with practical, evidence-based updates in ENT, allergy, and cardiovascular disease, focusing on common presentations encountered in everyday clinical practice.

The programme supports clinicians to make confident, guideline-aligned decisions, with an emphasis on accurate diagnosis, effective management, and prevention of disease progression through integrated, patient-centred care.

Through expert-led sessions, attendees will gain practical insights into the assessment and management of common ENT and allergic conditions, alongside a contemporary approach to cardiovascular prevention, recognising the continuum between hypertension and heart failure.

Key Learning Outcomes

• Develop a structured, evidence-based approach to the assessment and management of rhinitis and allergic conditions in clinical practice

• Improve confidence in recognising and managing food allergy and anaphylaxis in primary care

• Understand hypertension and heart failure as a disease continuum, and how this informs prevention and early intervention

• Apply practical cardiovascular risk reduction strategies to improve long-term patient outcomes

• Integrate guideline-based management into routine clinical decision-making across primary and secondary care

Meet the Speakers

Dr Yassir Javaid

MA (Cantab) FRCP FRCGP PGDip Cardiology GPwSI Cardiology

Dr Javaid qualified from Cambridge University and completed his VTS training in Northampton. He has a specialist interest in cardiology and echocardiography and was a clinical lead in the Northamptonshire Community Cardiology service, which had a focus on patients with heart failure and valve disease. He was also the primary care Cardiovascular lead for the East Midlands Clinical Network from 2013-2020. He was named Pulse “GP of the Year” in 2015 for his work in reducing stroke emergency admissions in the East Midlands. He is on the editorial board for the British Journal of Cardiology and a trustee of Heart Valve Voice.

GP with Special Interest (GPwSI) in Allergy and Clinical Immunology

Dr Thomas Baldwin is a GP with Special Interest in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, specialising in the assessment and management of food allergy, anaphylaxis, and complex allergic disease in primary care. He works across community and specialist pathways to support early diagnosis, risk stratification, and safe long-term management of patients with allergic conditions.

Dr Baldwin is an experienced national educator, delivering practical, guideline-aligned teaching for GPs, pharmacists, and nurses. His sessions focus on translating evidence and NICE-based guidance into confident, real-world decision-making for frontline clinicians managing allergy and anaphylaxis in everyday practice.
