Professor Martin Vernon is a Consultant Geriatrician and Associate Medical Director (Medical Appraisal & Revalidation, Adult Safeguarding) at Tameside & Glossop Integrated NHS Foundation Trust. He is also Honorary Professor at the Centre for Ageing and Mental Health, University of Chester, and Senior Advisor to the Academic Centre for Healthy Ageing (Barts & QMUL, London).

A former National Clinical Director for Older People and Person-Centred Integrated Care at NHS England, he now serves as Chair of the North West Clinical Senate. Professor Vernon is a nationally recognised leader in frailty, ageing, and integrated care, with a strong focus on improving outcomes for older adults through innovative service design, workforce development, and evidence-based practice.

He is widely respected for his contributions to shaping policy, promoting person-centred care, and advancing ethical, sustainable approaches to ageing within the NHS and beyond.
