On Saturday 12th July 2025, CliniLink proudly hosted a face-to-face CPD-accredited event titled “Deep Dive: Diabetes Management in Primary Care,” and what a fantastic day it was!
Held at the beautiful Royal Nawaab Pyramid venue in Stockport, the session welcomed over 100 healthcare professionals from across the region, including pharmacists, GPs, nurses, and other primary care team members. With a strong emphasis on practical strategies, real-world case studies, and evidence-based interventions, the day was led by none other than Professor Saqib Mahmud, who shared expert insights on tackling complex diabetes presentations in the community setting.

CPD Learning Outcomes
Led by Professor Saqib Mahmud, an expert in cardiometabolic health, the session focused on:
-
Individualised treatment planning for type 2 diabetes
-
Optimising use of GLP-1 receptor agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors
-
Managing cardiovascular and renal risk in multimorbid patients
-

Attendees gained 4 CPD points, with many describing the training as immediately applicable to their current roles in general practice and community pharmacy.

Supporting Pharmacist Wellbeing: £500 Donated to Pharmacist Support
CliniLink was proud to support Pharmacist Support, a vital independent charity providing free, confidential wellbeing services to the pharmacy workforce. A £500 donation was made as part of the event’s commitment to supporting the wider profession.
The charity’s representatives were on hand throughout the day, speaking with delegates and raising awareness about the support available to those working in high-pressure clinical environments.
